Now taking a waitlist for in person counselling
Please reach me at m.jelinekcounselling@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Each session will be slightly different, but the process will be similar. I’ll ask questions to understand where you’re at, how you got here, and where you want to go. Then we’ll talk about how to get there. I might ask you to do some exercises in real time, offer some homework, or give emotional support. Different things work for different people. I don’t do anything without your permission.
BCYC - I have a bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care. This degree focused on relationships, counselling skills, and supporting children, youth and families.
MC - I have a master's degree in counselling. This degree focused focused on human psychology, counselling theories, counselling skills, and ethics.
RCC - I am a registered clinical counsellor. This means I have met all the educational and practice requirements set out by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I am responsible to their code of ethics and standards of practice.
The British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) suggests $135-$150 per 50-minute individual session. My fee is $135+GST/session. I also offer discounted sessions for non-profit workers in helping professions, and child and youth care, social work, and counselling students. Book a consult or contact me directly to discuss discounted sessions.
The BC medical services plan (MSP) does not cover counselling. Many employer paid benefits plans offer some coverage for services rendered by an RCC. Each plan has their own criteria for who is covered, how much they will cover annually, and what percentage of each session they will cover. I can direct bill some providers via Telus e-claims. Please check your individual plan.
